Over the next few years I would like to further my knowledge with regard to practical applications of learning technologies and their impact on learning and teaching. To ensure my research knowledge is current I will continue reading relevant journals, attending conferences and subscribing to relevant mailing groups. I would also like to carry out and publish some research in this area.

Another part of my future plan is to get more training in technologies that I believe could help me work with academic teams more effectively, in particular authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Xerte, video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, as well as online technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

I am starting a new job as Blended Learning Specialist in April 2017, and I am looking forward to it as it involves working closely with the course team, subject matter experts  and the e-learning team on developing an innovative blended course utilising the latest educational technologies and pedagogical concepts. I hope this new role will allow me to develop professionally through applying my knowledge to teaching and learning in a specific academic discipline.
